First stone for the Graphite industrial demonstrator at Chinon
Construction of the Graphite industrial demonstrator at Chinon, scheduled to come on stream in 2022, began in September 2020. The project is designed to test and validate the processes and tools envisaged for decommissioning EDF's 6 Graphite reactors, which are currently shut down. In particular, this new facility will make the most of Graphitech's expertise, which combines the know-how of EDF and Veolia, and was created specifically to develop the remotely-operated tools and special machines used in these operations.
